Description
Glyde Ultra Slimfit is the narrower-fit version of Glyde’s vegan latex range, built for anyone who finds a standard 53mm condom loose rather than snug. At 49mm nominal width it sits noticeably closer than Glyde’s standard Ultra. The latex is the same, the patented production process is the same — only the mould is smaller, so fit changes but reliability doesn’t.
Glyde is the only condom brand certified vegan by The Vegan Society. Casein, a milk-derived protein, is the standard ingredient most latex condoms use to firm up the rubber during manufacturing — Glyde swaps it out for a plant-based thistle extract instead. Every condom then goes through a patented double-dipping and double-washing process — double dipping builds in extra strength without adding thickness, and double washing strips out the residue that gives ordinary latex its rubbery smell and taste. What’s left is thin, odourless, tasteless, and lightly coated with a silicone-based lubricant. That vegan label refers to a manufacturing swap, not to a different base material — this is still 100% natural rubber latex, meaning anyone allergic to latex needs a different condom entirely. Consistent, correct use meaningfully reduces the chances of pregnancy and STI transmission, though guarantees aren’t something any condom — Slimfit included — can offer.
Things to know
- Material: 100% natural rubber latex
- Certified vegan by The Vegan Society — made with plant-based thistle extract instead of dairy-derived casein
- Nominal width: 49mm (a snugger fit than Glyde’s standard 53mm Ultra)
- Length: approx. 170mm
- Lightly lubricated with a silicone-based lubricant
- Free from glycerin, parabens, nonoxynol-9 and benzocaine; talc-free formula uses oat powder instead
- Patented double-dipping and double-washing process: added strength without added thickness, no latex odour or taste
- Suitable for vaginal, oral and anal use
- Best stored somewhere cool and dry, away from prolonged heat and direct sunlight — long-term wallet storage isn’t ideal
- Latex reacts with oil — use a water-based or silicone-based lubricant with these, never an oil-based one
- Most condoms carry a 3-5 year shelf life from manufacture, so check the printed date is still current before use

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Glyde Ultra Slimfit work for someone with a latex allergy?
Glyde Ultra Slimfit remains unsuitable for a latex allergy, despite the vegan certification. That certification covers the thistle extract that replaces dairy-derived casein in manufacturing, not the base material — this is still 100% natural rubber latex. A non-latex condom is the right choice for anyone whose skin reacts to latex.
How does Glyde Ultra Slimfit differ from the standard Glyde Ultra?
Glyde Ultra Slimfit has a nominal width of 49mm against 53mm on the standard Ultra, giving it a closer fit for anyone who finds the standard size loose. Both are approximately 170mm long and made from the same latex through the same double-dipping and double-washing process — only the mould changes.
What lubricant works with Glyde Ultra Slimfit condoms?
Glyde Ultra Slimfit condoms should be used with a water-based or silicone-based lubricant only. Oil-based products — including massage oils, lotions and some balms — degrade latex and increase the risk of the condom failing, so they should be avoided with this one. Each condom also comes with a light coating of silicone-based lubricant already applied. Two condoms should never be worn together, since doubling up adds friction rather than protection.
